Welcome to the Chelsea Barsby Campaign website.

The Chelsea Barsby Campaign (CBC) is named after Chelsea Barsby from North Nottinghamshire who, at the age of ten months was diagnosed as having Bi-lateral Retinoblastoma; cancer in both eyes. Chelsea's life has been one long series of operations and treatments in the hope that she will not have to spend the rest of her life totally blind; she has already lost the use of one eye.

The CBC raises funds to support Chelsea and her family through the trauma of living with eye cancer. All funds raised are put at the disposal of the Trustees to ensure that Chelsea lives as enjoyable a life as possible.

Chelsea is one of the more profound cases of a child living with eye cancer. Children in Chelsea's position face an uncertain future in respect of being able to enjoy life in the same way as children with normal vision; but this does not stop them enjoying life if appropriate support is provided.

The CBC's primary aim is to support Chelsea and her family in ensuring Chelsea leads a full and satisfying life by providing funds for specific life-enhancing projects such as purchasing specialist equipment to help with her education.

Wherever possible, at the discretion of the CBC Trustees, the CBC will support other children in similar situations - please see our Policy for further information.
