Carole drops in from 3000 feet to support CBC

August 3 2003

Carole Brownley from Mansfield threw herself out of a plane at 3,000 feet above South Nottinghamshire to raise over £1,500 for Chelsea Barsby.

Carole spent a full day training for her very first parachute jump - and she did it the hard way; all on her own! Many first time parachutists take the option of doing a tandem jump, which means being strapped to an experienced jumper but Carole decided to do it solo.

"It was the most terrifying thing I have ever done in my life but was worth every minute just to help little Chelsea," said Carole after landing on terra firma on August 3rd.

Joining Carole on the jump was CBC Trustee Graham Parker who applauded Carole for her bravery and efforts in raising so much money. "I don't think I have ever seen anyone look so frightened but determined at the same time. When she left the plane her face was a picture - she has vowed never to do it again but everyone at the CBC thanks her for what she has done for Chelsea," said Graham Parker
